Day 1. Aeroport. Chek in. (we can change this day depending on the flight)
After check-in at the hotel, we have a lunch “Our Village” restaurant. Further on the program we have a tour in Yerevan. The city to which this year was 2,800 years old, a city that is older than Rome, a city called an open-air museum. The program of acquaintance with the city includes visits to Victory Park, the monument to the hero, the national epic David Sasuntsi, the temple of Gregory the Illuminator, as well as one of the most favored places of Yerevan residents and visitors – the Cascade architectural complex, where we will visit the Cafesjian Museum of Contemporary Art, Open sky, and inside this unique structure. Walking along the Republic Square. Visit to the National Historical Museum of Armenia. A short rest at the hotel and a dinner at the Jasmine restaurant, where you can enjoy a national show program. After dinner, return to the hotel and free time.
Day 2. The beginning of the wine tour.
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, departure to the Maran Winery was founded in 1992. After Maran we will go to the Temple “Zvartnots”, which translates as “The Temple of the Vigilant Angels”, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Further departure to the city of Etchmiadzin, which is considered the religious center of the country. Lunch at the restaurant “Tteni Pnadok”. After lunch we will go to one of the most important wineries in Armenia – Armenia Vine. Here we will have a tour of the famous plant and of course the degustation of the most famous varieties of wines. Return to Yerevan. Dinner at the restaurant Tospia.
Day 3. Fabulous Northern Wine
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out of the hotel and departure for Monastery Khor Virap, located near the border with Turkey. The monastery is known for its location at the foot of the biblical Mount Ararat, according to legend, Noah was on the ark after the Flood. After Khor Virapa we will go to the cave “Birds” where the most ancient footwear in the world was recently found and the winery is 6000 years old. Although the work there is still going on, we can personally see what is happening inside the cave. Further we will continue the way to the monastery complex Noravank (XIII-XIV). It is here that the famous Armenian Areni Wine is produced. We will visit Areni winery, where there will be a tasting of the famous Areni wine. After the tasting we will have lunch at the Areni Wine House Cave restaurant where we will try the most famous Armenian dishes. Overnight and dinner in the village of Hermon in the Lucy Tour Tourist Office.
Day 4 Hero of the Day – Famous Izhevsk Wine and Cognac Factory
After breakfast in the hotel we will continue on our way to the largest lake in the Caucasus, Sevan. On the way, we will visit the largest field of Khachkars, Noratuz. Then stop at the restaurant Tsovatsots and try the famous fish dishes. After lunch we will go to the monastery of Sevanavank, which is located on the peninsula of Lake Sevan. After Lake Sevan we will go to the most famous wine-brandy factory in Ijevan. During the visit we will walk through the territory of the plant. An experienced guide will acquaint us with the peculiarities of the winemaking tradition of the Tavush region, which is known with its moderate microclimate, the guide will acquaint you with the history of the plant and will present the entire production process and the types of drinks produced. We will pass through the territory of the winery, the wine cellar, the cellar of the collection wines, the room where the brandy is aging. After visiting the production facilities, wine and cognac will be tasted. Return to Yerevan for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 History of cognac
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Visit the Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts and the Matenadaran Museum. Then we will go to one of the most popular Yerevan places – Ararat Brandy Factory, where after an excursion to the museum of the factory, and in fact – to the museum of the history of Armenian cognac, we will try two types of cognac – three and ten years old. Departure for the tour to Garni and Geghard. During lunch in the house of a local villager we will try cooked in tandoor lavash, vegetables and meat – along with incredible country wine or apricot vodka. Armenia abolished paganism in 301 and became the first country in the world to accept Christianity on an official level. Changed spiritual values and liturgical rites, but the wine continued to occupy its important place, both in everyday life and in rituals. This trip, which includes a visit to the pagan temple of Garni and the cave temple of Geghard is very symbolic from this point of view. Return to Yerevan. Free evening in Yerevan.
